In 2025, we partnered with builder McCorkell Constructions to uplift their social procurement response for the Officer Brunt Road Specialist School Project. This project is being delivered by the Victorian School Building Authority.
About the Officer Brunt Road Specialist School Project
The Officer Brunt Road Specialist School, opening in Term 1, 2027, will provide high-quality education for up to 144 students in a rapidly growing community. With dedicated learning neighbourhoods, specialist creative and wellbeing spaces, and inclusive outdoor areas, the project is designed to meet diverse educational needs.

As a specialist school development for people living with a disability, the project strongly aligns with Sedo Group’s work in inclusive, community-centred social procurement, ensuring that outcomes extend beyond the build and into long-term social value.
Client Challenge: Enhancing Social Procurement Capability
Over the last 5 years, McCorkell Constructions had been capturing a range of social procurement activities across their projects, but the information was not optimised, consistently structured or clearly linked to project outcomes. This made it difficult to articulate their impact, build a compelling narrative in submissions and showcase the full value of their past performance. They engaged Sedo Group to clarify their social procurement outcomes, strengthen the way results were presented and identify new opportunities to elevate visibility across future tenders.
Our Approach: Uplifting Social Procurement for Tender Success
To support McCorkell’s tender submission, Sedo Group:
- Reviewed their past social procurement submissions to benchmark their position within the Tier 3 construction market
- Identified new pathways for inclusive recruitment, including university programs and alternative talent pipelines
- Highlighted existing social procurement achievements to demonstrate credibility and impact.
Throughout this process, we uncovered well-established strengths, including long-term partnerships with SheForce Recruitment and Labour Hire for recruitment and St John Ambulance for first aid training. We also introduced Aboriginal businesses and social enterprises into their supply chain, helping them build a more holistic and future-focused procurement approach.
We also helped McCorkell Constructions identify new social enterprises to introduce to their supply chain including social enterprise Give Industries.
Give Industries is a profit-for-purpose social enterprise that donates 100% of its profit to social and sustainable causes.

Give Industries, social enterprise.
Give Industries was introduced to McCorkell Constructions to deliver an electrical package on the Officer Brunt Road Specialist School project.
Tender Success: A Strong Submission and a Positive Outcome
McCorkell Constructions submitted a compelling and well-evidenced tender, which was ultimately successful on the project. Their win reflects both technical capability and their commitment to delivering community value, supporting local trades and embedding meaningful social impact.
Client Testimonial: McCorkell’s Experience Working With Sedo Group
“Working with Sedo Group was an excellent and highly valuable experience. Their communication, adaptability, and ability to turn work around quickly throughout the tendering process were outstanding. They not only supported us in identifying potential new social benefit partners but also helped us articulate our own story more effectively and highlight the great things we are already doing as a business. Integrating their final deliverables into our work was seamless, and I would highly recommend their services.”
